Extrusion Blow Molding Machine
(EBM) — 0.5L to 1000L

An Extrusion Blow Molding (EBM) machine melts plastic pellets (HDPE, PP, LDPE) directly and continuously extrudes a hollow tubular parison between open molds. When clamped, air inflates it into the final container.

Unlike PET stretch blow molding which requires two-stage preforms, EBM can produce hollow containers with integrated handles, hollow handles, off-center neck finishes, jerrycans, multi-layer barrier bottles, and 30L–1,000L large drums.

Sailwin EBM series handles hollow containers from 0.1L up to 1,000L. Typical applications include small pharmaceutical bottles, 1L–5L motor oil jugs, 10L–25L stackable jerrycans, 30L–200L chemical open/closed head drums, and 1,000L IBC inner tanks. Materials include HDPE (high & high-molecular weight), PP, LDPE, and co-extruded barrier layers.

Continuous extrusion extrudes material without pause, ideal for lightweight small bottles (0.1L–15L). Accumulator head models store molten plastic in an internal chamber and purge large parisons via hydraulic piston in 1–3 seconds, preventing heavy parisons from sagging and thinning under gravity on 30L–1,000L drums.

The 100-point parison programmer (MOOG / DigiPack) dynamically moves the tooling die mandrel as the parison drops. It deposits thicker resin at corners, parting lines, and handles, and thins out non-critical side walls. This passes UN drop tests and stacking load tests while saving 10%–15% in raw material costs.

A single die head yields one container per clamp cycle. A double die head extrudes two parisons simultaneously, essentially doubling hourly output on the same machine chassis. Multi-die heads (3-head, 4-head, or 6-head) are standard for high-volume small cosmetic and shampoo bottles.

Yes. Sailwin builds 2-layer to 6-layer co-extrusion die heads incorporating central EVOH or PA barrier layers sandwiched between virgin and regrind HDPE. This provides 100% barrier against solvent permeation, oxygen migration, and container paneling in agrochemical and pesticide bottles.

Continuous extrusion machines ship in 35 to 50 days. Heavy accumulator machines (30L–260L) require 50 to 65 days. Custom molds with automatic de-flashing and bottom pinch-off take 30 to 40 days including full FAT testing.
